Apply In-Person

  1. The Captain has to submit an application to the Customs Officer at the port of entry in The Bahamas. Contact Link for Customs Department
  2. The Applicant can download the Form from the following Health Declaration Form Link.
  3. Complete the application forms with all details.
  4. After filling in all the details, submit the Application Forms along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Customers Officer at the point of arrival at your port of entry in The Bahamas, along with the corresponding Fee.
  5. Once approved, the applicant will be informed through the proper communication channel.
  6. The applicant should then visit the office to collect the permit.


Apply Online

  1. The Inward Declaration and Cruising Permit can be applied online also.
  2. Applicant can login to the online portal by clicking on the below Online Link Page.
  3. On the left side of the login page, click on the “+Create Account” tab.
  4. The page will redirect the applicant to a customer Profile page.
  5. Complete the form with personal information and click on the “Create Profile” tab at the end of the page.
  6. The account will be created.
  7. Go to Login Page Login Page, enter Date of birth, Customer Last name and Passport number and click on the “Continue to Submit” Tab.
  8. The applicant can now fill the forms and make fee payment online with a credit card.
  9. The completed form can be downloaded online.
  10. The completed form must be presented at the point of entry to the Customs Officer in The Bahamas.
  11. The processed form will be given to the applicant / Captain and will serve as the Cruising Permit.

EligibilityEdit

Captains sailing pleasure vessels operated for pleasure and recreation only.


FeesEdit

There are customs charges based on the size of the pleasure vessel.

  • Up to 35 ft in length - BS$150.00
  • Over 35 ft in length - BS$300.00


In addition, there is a BS$20.00 per head passenger tax with the first 3 crew / passengers exempt.

ValidityEdit

This process must be completed within 24 hours after arrival into Bahamian waters.

  • Details of sanitation control on the board
  • Has ship/vessel visited an affected area identified by the world health organization?
  • List ports of call from the commencement of voyage with dates of departure, or within past thirty days, whichever is shorter
  • Upon request of the competent authority at the port of arrival, list crew members, passengers or other persons who have joined ship/vessel since international voyage began or within past thirty days, whichever is shorter, including all ports/ countries visited in this period (add additional names to the attached schedule)
  • Number of crew members on board
  • Number of passengers on board.
  • Health questions:
  • Has any person died on board during the voyage otherwise than as a result of accident?
  • Is there on board or has there been during the international voyage any case of disease which you suspect to be an infectious nature?
  • Has the total number of ill passengers during the voyage been greater than normal/expected?
  • Is there any ill person on board now?
  • Was a medical practitioner consulted?
  • If yes, state particulars of medical treatment or advice provided in the attached schedule.
  • Are you aware of any condition on board that may lead to infection or spread of disease? Yes no
  • Sanitary measure (e.g. Quarantine, isolation, disinfection or decontamination) applied on board.
  • Stowaways found on board
  • Sick animal or pet on board
