ProcedureEdit

  1. To join the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), all applicants are required to complete a “Preliminary Recruitment Form”.
  2. The form is an online form and is available whenever a recruitment process is on-going. Forms are not downloadable, not available at police stations or at the Police Training College.
  3. In the “Preliminary Recruitment Form”, you will have to give the recruitment officers some basic information about you, your educational background, employment history and background information.
  4. Please read the form very carefully and answer the questions as truthfully as possible. You will not proceed if all required fields isn't entered.
  5. If the basic academic qualification are not met, applicants will be required to sit an Entrance Examination.
  6. The Entrance Examination is normally held between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm at the Police Academy.
  7. All candidates will be notified of the date of the examination and are required to present a photo I. D on entering the Examination Room.
  8. Candidates will also be notified of their exam results by the appropriate authority at the Police Academy 3-4 weeks after the writing of the examination.
  9. Candidates who are successful, will be eligible for the Extended Interview.
  10. It is an in depth assessment exercise conducted over a two day period that includes the following:
    • Physical Fitness/ Medical Evaluation
    • Psychological Screening
    • Written Test
    • Individual Interview with Assessors
    • Short Speech and Group Discussion
    • Learn more about the Extended Interview
  11. If you meet the required standards, a thorough background investigation will be conducted by the Screening and Investigating team.
  12. Finally, a staff member of the academy will contact you to inform you if you have passed or failed.

EligibilityEdit

In order to be eligible to join the Royal Bahamas Police Force, all applicants must:

  • Be a Bahamian citizen
  • Be of good character and without a criminal record
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 30 years
  • Have good academic qualification
  • Meet medical standards
  • Be a successful throughout the Assessment Process
  • Be a Bahamian Citizen

InstructionsEdit

  • To be a successful candidate, you must have academic qualification of not less than 4 BGCSE's at grades "C" or above or pass the Police Academy's Entrance Examination in English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge and Intelligence.
  • During the interview process, you will be required to do a physical, mental and medical evaluation and you must meet the minimal standards as set out by the Training College.
  • Pass all the exercises laid out in the Assessment Process.
