Bahamas - Buy a Land Or Residential Government Land

Apply In-Person
- To Apply for a Purchase of Residential Government Land the applicant must submit an application form to the Department of Housing.
- Residents of Family Island may collect the application from the Local Administrator’s Office.

- Residents of Grand Bahama and Abaco may collect the applications from the Department of Housing Office on those islands.
- Office locations are listed below. Alternatively, a form may be downloaded from this site using the link below.
- The applicant can also download the Form through the following Form Link.
- Applicant in New Providence, Grand Bahama, and Abaco should complete the Form and submit it to the relevant office.
- All the other applicants from the other family island must submit their Application Form through the Island Administrator Office.
- The Department of Housing will review the Application Form and will send an acknowledgement letter to the applicant.
- If the Applicant meets the requirement and a lot is available, The Department of Housing will contact the applicant to inform through phone. A letter of offer is also issued to the applicant.
- As per the letter of offer, the Applicant has to pay before the payment deadline or can request for a deadline.
- If the Applicant fails to pay, the Department of Housing will issue a resend letter and offer the property to another applicant on the list.
