Apply Online:

  1. To Apply to Become a Consolidated Agency, applicant must first find the type of Business he/she want to open. Click here to view a list of some business types Link and click here to see guides on what may be needed Link
  2. New businesses will need to get a Trade Name (Business Name).
  3. Please wait 24hrs to receive the approved Trade Name & reference number in through e-mail. Click here, to complete the Trade Name application (for Individuals, Sole traders or Partnerships) Link and Click here, to visit the Registrar Generals’ official page and follow the instructions (for Limited Companies Link
  4. Skip this step, if using a registered company name and complete the Consolidated Agencies Application.
  5. Next, you will need the Approved Trade Name and Reference Number or an approved name from The Registrar General to complete the forms below Dept. of Physical Planning, Min. of Works, & Dept. of Environmental Health Services Combined Application Link RBPF Business Licencing & Inspection Form Link
  6. No NIB physical “Letter of Good Standing” will be required. It will be verified electronically.
  7. If you have not registered your company with NIB as yet or need an NIB Smart Card, go to “The National Insurance Board Website” Link to NIB Website and complete the required applications.
  8. Wait to receive their agency approval(s) through e-mail, then Log on to the official website [vat.revenue.gov.bs Link to Revenue Website],
  9. Register (create an account) and submit your business licence application.
  10. Once your business licence application has been approved, make the payment online through the account you created or at any Royal Bank of Canada branch. (Please allow 2-3 business days for payments made at RBC)
  11. Download and print their approved business licence for display.

  • Family Island Applicants must meet their Local Administrator.

To fill Consolidated Agencies Application Form:

  • One form is to be completed for all agencies.
  • Business Licence applications must be submitted online at [vat.revenue.gov.bs Link]
  • Section 1 of the form must be completed by all applicants.
  • Section 2 of the form is for submission to the department of physical planning & ministry of works - building controls division.
  • Section 3 of the form is for Submission to The Department of Environmental Health Services.
