Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The Applicant has to submit an application Form 1 to the local Administrator’s Office or the Department of Marine Resources.
2. Visit the following Details Contact Link.
3. The Applicant can download from the following Form Link.
4. Complete the application form with all details.
5. After filling in all the details submit the Application Form to the Department of Marine Resources along with the corresponding Fee.
6. Produce a certificate from the Ministry of Tourism if the Applicant is a guide.
7. On completion of the above process the applicant will get the permit on the same day.

Online Process:

1. Click on the following to Apply Flat Fishing Permit Online Link.
2. Then Go Outdoor Bahamas Signup page is opened.
3. Click on the “Create Account” Tab to create a customer Profile.
4. Complete the profile details and click “Create Profile”.
5. Once the profile is created the applicant can login by entering the “Date of Birth”, “Last Name”,“Passport Number” click “Continue (Submit)” tab.
6. The page will redirect to a new page.
7. The Applicant shall click on “Apply for & Purchase License / Permit” tab.
8. The Applicant can now select the type of license by clicking “Add to Cart” , select “start date” to choose the date of start of the permit validity.
9. Click “Next” tab. Now the cart is being updated with the number of items chosen and the cost payable.
10. Click “Checkout” tab.
11. Now select the areas of the Bahamas where the applicant is fishing. Click “Submit” tab.
12. Review the “Shopping Cart”
13. If the Applicant is willing contribute to “The Bahamas Marine Protection Fund” click “ Yes Roundup”
14. Your total will be rounded up to the nearest $5.
15. Click “Checkout Now” tab.
16. The applicant can upgrade to “Durable Collector’s Card” by paying an additional $5 (this card will display the Applicant Name on the card.
17. Select “Add To Cart & Checkout” Tab.
18. Now review your shopping Cart and click on “Checkout Now” Tab.
19. Enter your credit card details, Confirm the Billing and Mailing Address and select the option “Pay Now Submit”.
20. Select the “Print” tab.
21. The Applicant will be able to view the “FLAT” Fishing license and take a print of the permit.
