Bahamas - Apply for a Company Tax Clearance Certificate

Apply Online:
- To apply for Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC), the applicant must visit the Government of The Bahamas, Online Tax Administration Portal Link
- The applicant must have a user account in order to access the various tax service features that are available on this site.
- Please fill in the account registration form by clicking on “Create a free online user account” submit it to the VAT Office by clicking the “Create My Account” button.
- The applicant will receive a reply shortly, with advice on username and further instructions regarding account creation.
- Enter the required details in the fields provided in the account creation form and click “Sign-up” button.
- After successful account creation, enter into account and locate an appropriate option for registration.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, provide the necessary details in applicable fields and complete the registration form.
- Also upload the required documents (if any) and make the required payment (if any) to authenticate the registration.
- After internal processes, your TCC will be approved and issued for you.
- Please note that before the department can issue a TCC, several agencies are contacted to ensure that the taxpayer is current with all its obligations to the government:
- Business Licence Unit
- Customs
- Immigration
- National Insurance
- Real Property Tax
- Road Traffic
- Value Added Tax (VAT)

EligibilityEdit
The certificate is required for individuals who:
- Wish to do business with the government or a public body,
- Wish to collect monies for services rendered to the government or a public body
- Wish to register ownership or change ownership of a taxable good;
- Receive allowances under the provisions of legislation (i.e. churches, schools, etc).
Businesses should note that the TCC will be issued only to taxpayers who are compliant with their tax obligations to the government.
