Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Taxi Cab License, the applicant has to fill the application form and submit to the Road Traffic Department.

3. The Applicant can download the application form from the following Form Link.
4. Complete the application form with all details.
5. After filling all the details submit the Application Form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Road Traffic Department along with the corresponding Fee.
6. The Applicant will receive an approval for the Franchise, and a Grant Letter will be given for the Taxi.
7. The applicant must present the vehicle to the nearest Road Traffic Department in New Providence or the Family islands.
8. The Administrator’s office will act on behalf of Road Traffic Department in Bimini/Cat Cay, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells.
9. The Applicant must provide all supporting documents to the inspector at the location for inspection of the Vehicle.
10. After the inspection if the vehicle passes the inspection the applicant will be given an Inspection Certificate of Fitness form, that has to be presented to Customer Service Representative, who will capture the identity and vehicle supporting documents, verify them and then register the owner in the Transport Management System.
11. The applicant will be provided with a Transport Management Number (TMN).
12. The applicant will be required to pay the required fees to the cashier, who will issue the Vehicle License Disc, a Title Certificate and new motor vehicle licence plates.

Validity

• All Public Service Vehicles are licensed in the month of May.
• Inspection is done twice a year for Public Service Vehicles during the month of May and October.
