Bahamas - Apply for Shark Permit

Introduction

This permit allows the holder to fish for, possess, or export any shark or shark parts for educational, scientific or research purposes.

Instructions

Please provide instructions on obtaining the certificate/documents.
e.g. The state office holds birth records since january 1908.

Required Information

  • Name of Applicant
  • Address
  • Telephone Number
  • Name of institution or organization, on behalf of which the educational research is conducted
  • Purpose for fishing or possessing shark or shark parts
  • Description of educational scientific or research project
  • Proposed geographical areas to conduct educational, scientific or research project
  • Proposed starting date, Proposed ending date
  • Fish for, possess or export shark species
  • Quantity of shark species to be caught

Procedure

  1. Complete the relevant application form.
  2. Submit the completed form, along with the supporting documents, to the Department of Marine Resources.
  3. Upon approval of application, the applicant will be required to pay the relevant fee.

  • Completed application form.
  • Copy of passport.
  • For those persons wishing to conduct research, a scientific research application must be submitted.

Fees

BS$50.00 per year

Validity
