Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The Application form for Self-Starter Program can be collected from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.
2. Visit the following link for Contact Details:Link.
3. The Applicant can download the Form from the below Form Link
4. Complete the application form and submit along with all the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents “section to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.
5. Applicant from the Family Island can submit their Application Form through the Family Island Administrator.
6. An Acknowledgement receipt of the application will be written by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and the applicant is informed of the committee’s decision which is held every two months.
7. The successful Applicant has to come to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, along with Business Licence and Quotation for tools and supplies requested.
8. The Department will process the purchase order of the suppliers.
9. After the process the applicant is informed to collect the orders by providing the national photo id.
10. After purchasing the supplies/tools, the applicant must return to the Ministry with receipts to match the purchase order.
11. The Department of Youth will then prepare the corresponding cheques, which are directly sent to the respective establishment.
12. The Ministry officials will carry out site visits for first six to twelve months. During these visits, the officials will conduct interviews and surveys to monitor the success of the business.
13. The Ministry may also provide basic training or seminar opportunities.

• Health Certificate (For business involving food)

Applicant must be a Bahamian citizen or resident, between the ages of 18 and 30.

No processing Fee.
