Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To Apply for a Licence to Act as an Inquiry Agent and / or a Security Guard, the applicant must submit an application, to the Permanent Secretary.
2. Visit the following link for Contact Details:Link.
3. The Applicant can download the application form from the following Form Link.
4. Complete the application form with all details.
5. On Submission of the documents, the applicant will be contacted within 10 days by telephone or email to collect the temporary License.
6. A temporary license issued is for a maximum duration of three months, during which the Licence will be granted to the applicant. The police will conduct a verification on the character and finance of the applicant before granting the License.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria are:

• The applicant’s Minimum age must be 18 year.
• The applicant must be a Bahamian Citizen.
  

Fees

• Temporary Licence Fee - BS$10 (every three months)
• Annual Licence Fee - BS$10
  

Validity

The Validity of the License expires on the 31st December.

Processing Time

The processing time is Ten Business Days for a temporary licence and Six to Eight months for the annual licence.
