Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The officer must submit a letter of resignation specifying the date on which he or she desires to leave the government service.
2. Visit the following link for Contact Details: Link.
3. Qualifying officers must also submit a pension/gratuity application to their immediate supervisor, together with supporting papers. For further information, go to the Pension/Gratuity Awards procedure page.
4. The supervisor / Human Resource department shall then send notice of the officer’s resignation to the Permanent Secretary (PS)/Head of Department.
5. The PS/Head of Department shall then notify the Permanent Secretary of the Department of Public Service of the officer's resignation.
6. After that, the Department of Public Service will accept the resignation and notify the agency.
7. The resignation will be Gazetted by the Department of Public Service.

Fees

No processing fee.

Validity

Officers shall either give one month's notice or pay one month's salary in lieu of notice.
