Apply In-Person

  1. The Applicant has to submit an application form to the Ministry of Works & Urban Development or local administrator. Freeport applications are submitted to the Grand Bahama Port Authority Limited.
  2. Visit the following Details Contact Link.
  3. The Applicant can download the Form from the following Form Link.
  4. Complete the application form with all details.
  5. After filling all the details submit the Application Form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Ministry of Works & Urban Development.
  6. The Civil Design Section receives the application and supporting papers.
  7. The Excavation Permit is authorised and can be collected after the permit cost is paid, and applicants are notified by phone.
  8. The Applicant must then pay the final fee and collect the Excavation Permit at the Ministry of Works & Urban Development's Civil Design Section. At the local government office, Family Island applicants collect their granted permit and make their final payment.

Processing TimeEdit

Following the submission of all documentation, a permit is completed in six to eight weeks. Please keep in mind that this may change depending on the needs of external agencies.
