Apply Online

  1. To apply for “The National Tuition Assistance Programme” the Applicant has to register Online.
  2. Click on the following link to register Online Link.
  3. On the top right side of the page click on “Apply” tab.
  4. The page will be redirected to a “Sign Up” Page and click on the tab “Sign Up”.
  5. The applicant has to provide an email address and password to sign up for an account.
  6. After signing up, the applicant will receive a confirmation email.
  7. The applicant must click on the confirmation link to confirmed their account
  8. Now the applicant can begin accessing the system for online application.
  9. The applicant must compete the application form and submit with the required documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section, before the last Friday in April.
  10. The applicant must not skip any details; as Incomplete documents will not be considered by the National Scholarship Committee.
  11. The applicant will be notified about the decision of the National Scholarship Committee by telephone, e-mail or post by the first week in July.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Copies of applicable certifications and test results (AA, GCE, BGCSE, SAT, etc.)
  • Two letters of recommendation: one from a high school teacher/lecturer or employer and one from a community leader
  • A copy of the admission letter
  • Official up-to-date transcripts from high school and the University of The Bahamas or other institutions
  • A copy of your valid National Insurance Card
  • A copy of the first four pages of your passport or certificate of citizenship
  • A brief statement of no more than 150 words detailing your professional ambitions, desire to return to The Bahamas, and contribution you hope to make after finishing your academic training programme.
  • Proof of Parent/Guardian Income (both parents/guardians must have a letter of employment or a pay stub)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate (can be submitted after notification that you have received the award)

EligibilityEdit

The Applicant must be:

  • Be a Bahamian citizen, resident in The Bahamas and of strong moral character.
  • Have minimum required GPA of 2.5 (or equivalent) for consideration of the National Tuition Assistance to pursue technical and vocational studies OR 3.0 (or equivalent) for consideration of the National Tuition Assistance to pursue academic studies.
  • Give prof of Financial Need: Analysis of family earned income, other awards, scholarships or loans
  • Exhibit good leadership qualities/contribution to school and community.
  • Acceptance in an approved accredited institution pursuing an approved course of study.
  • Must not be in possession of another Ministry of Education award/scholarship at the time of application.
  • Obtain a minimum of 12 credits per semester

No Processing Fees.

ValidityEdit

Poor performance, failure to enrol, inability to carry full course loads, bad behaviour, or any other reason acceptable to the National Scholarship Committee may result in the termination of the Scholarship at any time.
