Bahamas - Apply for Lost Driver License

Apply In-Person:
- The first step is to obtain a police report from a police station within the community. The contact details can be found here: Link
- The applicant must then complete a “Research Information Form” and submit all the supporting documents (as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below) to the Road Traffic Department, Driver’s Licence Unit.
- The Clerk at the Driver’s license unit, will search for the applicant’s driver licence record.
- After the record has been found, the payment must be made to the cashier.
- Then, the cashier will issue a receipt of payment to the applicant.
- Upon further verification of all the relevant information and documentations, the Clerk will update and print the drivers licence.
- The duplicate driver’s licence would then be issued for the same period of validity as the previous licence.

- To apply for Lost Driver License, please visit the following website : Link
- Click on the “Apply Now” button under the “Driver’s Licence Replacement / Duplicate” heading.
- In the new page, you may Log in (if you are already registered) or click on the “Sign Up” link (if you are new).
- You will be asked to provide your name and some personal details, please make sure to enter your information exactly as it appears on your NIB (National Insurance Board) card.
- Click on the “Next” button.
- Fill in the required details such as your National Insurance Number, Passport Number etc, in the relevant text boxes and click on the “Next” button.
- Again, you need to type relevant information as required and click on “Next” button.
- Your Citizen Profile will get created.
- Now that you have registered, you can access government services, go to the home page Link and click on the relevant service.
- You will be required to submit documentation specific to your service request. You can find the list in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Once you’ve completed the procedure, the Duplicate Driver’s license will be delivered to your address.
- The processing time will depend on the island to which the documents must be delivered.

- Non-Bahamians should present their passport and documents from The Bahamas Immigration Department permitting them to reside (this includes work permit, residency spouse certificate or residency to reside.
