Procedure

Apply In-person

1. To apply for Licence to Operate a Captive Marine Mammal Facility in person, the applicant has to visit the Department of Marine Resources in his/her state of residence.
2. The address and contact details can be found in the “Office Location & Contacts” Section.
3. Visit the office and get an application form for Licence to Operate a Captive Marine Mammal Facility from the relevant department. Or you can download it here:Link
4. Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
5. After filling the application form, make sure that you have attached all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
6. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
7. Upon approval of the application, the applicant will be requested to pay the required fee.
8. Permit will then be issued to the applicant within 5 to 10 days.

Eligibility

• Applicant must possess a facility that meets the requirements specified in the Marine Mammal (Facilities) Regulations.
• Applicant must have the ability to demonstrate possession of the financial and manpower resources, to operate the facility in accordance with the Marine Mammal Regulations.

Fees

• The required fee is BS$10,000.00

• A plan of the Facility on a scale of not less than one eighth of an inch to the foot should be submitted showing the intended use of eachpart, room or division and marine mammal enclosure.

    (c) Quarantine programme

    (d) Exhibits and/or public/dolphin programmes

    (e) Scientific research programmes

    (f) Marine mammal training programmes

    (g) Marine mammal propagation programme

    (h) Pest control programmes

    (i) Environmental quality control programmes
