Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Health Professional License in person, the applicant has to visit The Bahamas Medical Council.
- The address and contact details can be found in the “Office Location & Contacts” Section.
- Visit the office and get an application form forHealth Professional License from the relevant department. Or it can be downloaded from : Link
- Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
- Make sure that you have attached all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- Submit completed form with the prescribed fee of BS$210.00 to the Health Professions Council.
- Note: All non-Bahamians must submit a current work permit or contract along with their application. (Only a notarized copy will be accepted if the original cannot be presented for verification.)
- After submission, your application along with the attached documents will be forwarded for further verifications.
- Once all the internal processes are over, the applicants will be notified with the further instructions.

- Document certifying citizenship (passport, birth certificate or affidavit)
- Medical Degree, Name & Place of the Medical School, Date Degree Obtained. (Enclose original diploma or notarized copy)
- Copy of Notarized Registration and current Medical Licence
- Additional and/or Higher Qualifications - full particulars and dates (Enclose original diplomas or notarized copies)
- Include current Certificate of Good Standing
- Include Employee Contract or Employment Letter
- Original or notarized copies of any qualifications you obtained since the last licence renewal.

FeesEdit
- The fee is $210.00 ($200-application fee; $10-licence identification fee)
ValidityEdit
- The certificate/license needs to be renewed annually.Deadline is December 31st of current year to January 31st of the new year.

InstructionsEdit
- A one-time registration fee and an annual license fee are required of relevant health practitioners.
- All persons registered are eligible for a licence that confirms them as a fully licensed medical practitioner, upon payment of $200 fee.
- The licence is valid for one year and should be renewed.
- Licences will be renewed upon submission of application for renewal and payment of the fee.
- Renewal fees must be paid by 31st December of the preceding year and no later than 31st January each year.
- Failure to pay within this period will result in a $200 late fee owed in addition to the renewal fee.

- If your license is lost, damaged or destroyed, it can be replaced with a copy issued by the Council. A $35.00 application fee payment is required.
