Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The applicant has to submit an application form to the front desk at the Department of Labour on Rosetta Street or to the Department of Labour office on your island.
2. Visit the following Contact Link.
3. The applicant should mention his name and ‘Apprenticeship Application’ on the envelope.
4. The applicant from the Family Islands can collect the application form from the Department of Labour office on their island. Contact (242) 302-2550- 302-2562 for more information.
5. The applicant can download the Form from the following Form Link.
6. Complete the application form with all details.
7. After filling in all the details submit the Application Form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Department of Labour.
8. The Application can also be forwarded by email.
9. Save the form as a PDF file with the name of the applicant in the file name, for example, “APPLICATION FOR AN APPRENTICESHIP WITH JOHN ADAM”.
10. With the subject line ‘Apprenticeship Application,' email the completed form and a copy of the needed documents to [email protected]
11. The Applicant should also email the copy of the documents to [email protected] with the subject line “Apprenticeship Application”.

• All applicants must provide:
  • National Insurance Board (NIB) smart card
  • Primary, junior high or senior high school transcripts
  • Current police record
• Bahamian Citizens must provide either one of the following documents:
  • Valid E-Passport
  • Voter’s card/affidavit
  • Birth certificate
  • Certificate of Identity
• Non-Bahamians must provide either one of the following documents:
  • Permit from the Department of Immigration
  • Proof of permanent residency

Eligibility

• Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 40.
• Apprentices who are hired must meet the job's entry requirements.
  

Fees

No processing fee for this service.

Validity

The Apprenticeship Program and the Pre-Apprenticeship Program accept applications on a rolling basis. The deadlines for applications and the start dates for cohorts vary.
