Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Apply for Accreditation of Proficiency Test Provider, the candidate institution must approach The National Accreditation and Equivalency Council (NAECOB) of the Bahamas Contact Link
  2. Registered Institution must first submit the 'LOI Package'
    • Letter Of Intent,
    • Report of Eligibility
    • Ownership Disclosure Form
    • Copy of the Institution’s Business License
  3. Institution will receive communication from NAECOB acknowledging submission.
  4. Institution must acknowledge receipt of communication and information involving next steps.
  5. On review of the Report of Eligibility, an Advisory Visit will be requested to validate the contents of the report.
  6. There after the Institution will be advised on whether to begin the formal ‘Application for Accreditation Candidacy' Process.
  7. The Institution will be invited to begin formal ‘Application for Accreditation Candidacy' Process.
  8. The Institution's Accreditation Liaison Officer must attend NAECOB's Accreditation Candidacy Workshops.
  9. The Institution must submit completed 'Application for Accreditation Candidacy Form' along with the Accreditation Readiness Report and other accompanying documents.
  10. Candidate Progress Visits by NAECOB committee are scheduled for Candidate Institution on dates determined by NAECOB.
  11. Candidate Institution will be invited to submit completed 'Self-Study Report' along with accompanying documents.
  12. An On-Site Visit(s) by peer-review evaluators will be scheduled for the Candidate Institution on a date(s) determined by NAECOB.
  13. Candidate Institution must prepare a formal response to the Candidate Institution On-Site Visitation Report, focusing primarily on compliance standards violations and other areas of concern, if any.
  14. A decision will be made on the Applicant Institution's submission as to whether Accreditation Candidacy Status has been granted, denied, or deferred by NAECOB.
  15. Via meetings and workshops the newly Accredited Institution will be informed about the expectations, periodic evaluations, visitations, and reports that will be scheduled on dates determined by NAECOB.

EligibilityEdit

  • The institution must have authorization from the governing body or relevant authority has been granted to offer the programme.
  • The programme is consistent with the institutions stated mission and educational goals.
  • The institution has a system for internal programme approval, review, and monitoring.
  • There is a detailed programme specification developed.
  • The institutions resources adequately support its education programme offering.

ValidityEdit

Institutions that meet all standards throughout the candidate institution phase will be granted Initial Accreditation for a period of five (5) years before seeking reaffirmation of accreditation.

  • The application must be typed.
  • Ensure that the ‘Certification and Disclosure Statement’ page is signed.
  • Ensure that the ‘Declaration Statement’ page is signed.
  • Ensure that a USB Flash Drive with the digital copy of all physical documents submitted to NAECOB accompany the submission.
  • Separate the application from the accompanying documents.
