This procedure explains various ways to How to Apply for the Career Service Examinations in Bacolod.
Please follow the guide below to understand how to apply for the Career Service Examinations:
- Qualification for CSE-PPT and COMEX
- Filipino citizen and is at least 18 years old on the date of filing the application;
- Have good moral character;
- Have not been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude, or disgraceful or immoral conduct, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs;
- Have not been dishonourably discharged from military service, or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government; and
- Have not taken the same level of Career Service Examination, regardless of mode, within the last three months before the date of examination.

- Prepare the requirements:
- Required documents for CSE-PPT:
- The Fully accomplished Application Form link, please remember that the spaces for “Signature of Applicant” and “Right Thumbmark” on the Application Form should be left blank. These shall be accomplished in the presence of the CSC processor;
- Four pieces of your identical ID pictures with the following specifications: Passport size (1.8 inches x 1.4 inches); Coloured; In white background; Taken within recent three months; Printed on high-quality photo paper; Close-up shot with head and face occupying 80% of the picture and with the name tag placed approximately 1 inch below the chin; Name tag must be handwritten and legibly showing your signature over the printed full name following this format: First name, Middle name, Last name, and Extension name (if have); Facial features should not be computer enhanced; Eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other accessories that may cover facial features are not allowed; Left and right ears must be visible; Full-face view with the applicant directly facing the camera; Both eyes should be open; Neutral facial expression;
- The Original and photocopy of any of the following ID cards, which must be valid, and contains the complete name, clear picture, date of birth (if have), your signature, the name and signature of the issuing agency’s head/authorized representative (if have). It can be your Driver’s license, passport, PRC License, SSS ID, GSIS ID (UMID), Voter’s ID, BIR ID (ATM type/TIN card type with picture), PhilHealth ID, Current Company/Office ID, Current School ID, Police Clearance Certificate, Postal ID, Barangay ID, or NBI Clearance;
- Your original and photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA, formerly National Statistics Office), or the Local Civil Registry (LCR) printed on Security Paper (SecPa) if your ID card/s is without date of birth in;
- Your original and photocopy of Certification of Retention/Re-acquisition of Philippine Citizenship issued by the Bureau of Immigration if you hold dual citizenship under R.A. 9225;
- The Fully accomplished Application Form link, please remember that the spaces for “Signature of Applicant” and “Right Thumbmark” on the Application Form should be left blank. These shall be accomplished in the presence of the CSC processor;
- Required documents for COMEX:
- At least one valid ID and the printed application that is created during account registration;
- Your passport-size pictures that is done electronically on the day of your appearance.

- Please visit the nearest Civil Service Commission Offfice Office Locations and ask a copy of the Civil Service Exam Form (if need), fill out all necessary information in the application form without your signature and thumbprint, use black ink only and read instruction carefully. Submit the application form and the required documents. One evaluated by the CSC processor, affix your signature and thumbprint in the presence of CSC processor. Pay the applicable fee and get your examination receipt slip and other instruction or reminders given by the CSC processor.

- Access the CSC-COMEX website website, create your account by click the “Sign Up Now!” button, the key on your personal and other pertinent information. You must have an active email where the confirmation email will be sent for the activation of your COMEX account. One activeted, you will access to the Examination Schedules and may reserve an examination slot through the COMEX Reservation website Reservation, please fill out the required fields and take note of your login credentials (email address and password). These with existing COMEX Reservation Account, shall log in and update your account to select the preferred type and date of examination. Login using your email and password Login, then choose SLOT RESERVATION. Once the reservation has been made, you should personally submit your required documents and pay the applicable fee to the designated CSC Office on the scheduled time.

The Career Service Examination or Civil Service Examination is administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to determine who is fit to work for the government. It is given multiple times a year and can be taken through one of two different modes as the Paper and pencil test (CSC-PPT) / ballpen-based, and the Computerized examination (CSC-COMEX). The mode of examination you will choose largely depends on whether you are tech-savvy or not.

Scope of Examination
A. Professional Level: In English and Filipino

B. Subprofessional Level: In English and Filipino

Both levels of the examination will have general information questions on
- Philippine Constitution;
- Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R. A. 6713);
- peace and human rights issues and concepts; and
- environment management and protection.

Examination Result
A. CSE-PPT
Results of the CSE-PPT are usually released from three to four months after the examination. The names of passers shall be posted at the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph.
Those who passed the examination must personally claim their Certificates of Eligibility at the CSC Regional Office/Field Office upon presentation of required documents. On the other hand, those who failed the examination may secure a copy of their Report of Rating through the CSC website. No Report of Rating shall be mailed to those who failed. To secure a copy of the Report of Rating, an examinee must key in his/her name, date of birth, examinee number, examination date, and examination type. Thus, examinees are advised to safe keep or remember their examinee number until receipt of the examination result.
B. CSE-CAT
Results of the CSE-CAT are usually released within two to three hours after the examination. Examinees are strongly advised to wait for the examination results. Those who passed shall receive their Certificate of Eligibility, while those who failed shall receive their Report of Rating. Should an examinee fail to claim/receive his/her examination result on the examination day, he/she has to personally return at a later date to claim either his/her Certificate of Eligibility or Report of Rating.
