This procedure explains various ways to Apply For Driving Instructor License or Permit (Accreditation) in Bacolod.

Apply In PersonEdit

  1. Following are procedures on how you can obtain a Driving Instructor License / Accreditation. To apply, go to LTO's Traffic Safety Division (TSD) - Central Office or any LTO Regional Offices.
  2. At the LTO office, ask where can you get an Application Form for Driving School Instructor. To save you some time, you may also check the link provided under 'Documents to Use' section which you can click to download the Application Form for Driving School Instructor.
  3. Have the application form notarized.
  4. Submit the completed form together with all the required documents to the Accreditation Committee.
  5. After evaluation of your application, you will receive a PAY ORDER SLIP from the secretariat for payment of Written Examination. You need to pay the written exam fee one week before the actual exam.
  6. Proceed to the cashier for payment of the examination fee.
  7. Submit a copy of Official Receipt to the Secretariat and get a schedule for written examination.
  8. On the day of your schedule, go to LTO Central/Regional Office and take the written examination.
  9. Result of the exam will be released within 15 working days. Those who passed the exam will receive notice of examination result.
  10. You will then be issued a PAY ORDER SLIP for payment of Accreditation.
  11. Go to the cashier and pay the accreditation fee.
  12. Submit a copy of Official Receipt to the Secretariat.
  13. After checking the OR, the Certificate of Accreditation will be issued to you.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Duly accomplished application form
  • Copy of valid Professional Driver’s License (Original to be presented)
  • Certificate of Driver’s License History
  • Certified True Copy of Diploma
  • Valid TESDA National TVET Trainer’s Certificate (NTTC) or Trainer’s Training Certificate
  • Valid National Certificate (NC) II in Driving and Automotive Servicing
  • Valid LTO Certificate of No Apprehension
  • Original Certificate of Neuropsychiatric test result
  • Original copy of valid drug test result from a DOH accredited testing center;
  • Copy of valid NBI/Police Clearance
  • Examination Result
  • Endorsement from accredited driving school

Note: Bring original (to be presented) and one photocopy (to be submitted).

EligibilityEdit

The Applicant-Driving Instructor/Lecturer must possess these following qualifications:

  1. At least 23 years of age;
  2. Must be a holder of professional driver’s license for the vehicle category to be lectured for at least five (5) years;
  3. Must be a holder of relevant four-year degree course or of automotive vocational training course;
  4. Must be holder of TESDA National TVET Trainer’s Certificate (NTTC) or have completed a Trainer’s Training National Certificate (NC) II in Driving and Automotive Servicing;
    • For existing instructors, as required in Section 22 of Memorandum Circular No. 2019-2176, a testimonial eligibility may be considered provided the following circumstances are present:
      • A. Teaching as driving instructor for more than five (5) years;
      • B. Cited for outstanding performance; and
      • C. No record of traffic violation for the past five (5) years
  5. Must not have any traffic violations for the past twelve (12) months prior to application as instructor;
  6. Must not have a history of suspension or revocation of driver’s license for any cause;
  7. Took and passed a neuropsychiatric test from a government accredited entity;
  8. Must have undergone a mandatory drug test performed by a DOH accredited drug testing center, and results must show that he/she is free from the use of dangerous drugs;
  9. Must NOT have been convicted by final judgement of a crime involving moral turpitude, or of a crime punishable by prison correctional under the Revised Penal Code.
  10. Have passed the written examination for driving school instructors
  11. Must attend and pass the retooling program for renewal applicant.
  12. Endorsement from accredited driving school
