Azerbaijan - Apply for Visa
ProcedureEdit
- Visa applicants must visit an embassy or consulate of the Azerbaijan Republic or go directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic enclosing the required documents and receipt for duty payable for granting visa.
- The list of documents enclosed to the applications of foreigners for visas is determined by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic, and the amount of the duty Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic.
- The application is reviewed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic or by the Embassies and consulates of the Azerbaijan Republic within one month from the date of submission; if the voyage is connected with an urgent medical treatment or serious illness or death of a relative residing in the Azerbaijan Republic, within 48 hours after submission of documents confirming these facts.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Completed application form
- Passport or other travel document (a validity period of a passport or other travel document should exceed a validity period of an expected visa at least by 3 months) and copies of their main pages;
- Two color photographs (3x4cm) matching with biometric identification requirements;
- A copy of medical insurance certificate (if a host does not undertake to pay for medical services);
- Document certifying payment of a state duty for visa issuance;
- Application submitted by a party inviting a foreigner and a stateless person to the Republic of Azerbaijan,
- Additional documents: a notarized copy of a birth certificate, a permission of parents or a legitimate representative and copies of identification documents are required for issuance of visa to foreigners and stateless persons under 18 holders of a passport travelling without his/her parent or a legitimate representative.
Following documents shall be submitted for visa issuance at a visa section of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the International Airport named after Haydar Aliyev; visa sections of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the International Airport in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, at Ganja International Airport; at Lankaran International Airport; at Gabala International Airport; at Zagatala International Airport of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
- 1 application form (sample is attached);
- A passport of a foreigner and an identity card of a stateless person;
- A receipt about payment of state duty for visa issuance.
NOTE: A validity period of a passport or other travel document should exceed a validity period of an expected visa at least by 3 months.

EligibilityEdit
Foreigners and stateless persons may obtain ordinary entry visas if they come to the country for the following purposes:
- Official
- Business
- Science and education
- Labor
- Tourism
- Culture and sport
- Humanitarian
- Personal travel
- Medical treatment
Diplomatic or service category entry visas are issued to persons who come to the country for official purposes.

ValidityEdit
Entry visa validity:
- Single entry-exit: from three days to three months
- Multiple entry-exit: from one to two years.
If the visa is not used within this period it becomes invalid.

A visa is an official document granting a legal right to foreigners to enter a foreign country on the basis of a visa requirement regime, remain there for a specified period of time mentioned in the visa and leave the country by crossing border crossing-points in a determined way.
Information which might helpEdit
Entry of foreigners into the Republic of Azerbaijan is forbidden only in these following cases:
- if it is vital for the protection of national security or public order;
- if it is necessary for the protection of rights and legal interests of the citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic and other persons;
- if the persons broke requirements of laws of the Azerbaijan Republic during his previous visit to the country;
- if the person gave false information about himself/herself in the application to enter the Azerbaijan Republic;
- if the entry into the Azerbaijan Republic of the person suffering from mental or infectious (contagious) diseases constitutes a threat to public health (except the persons who do not constitute such threat and arriving at his/her or their legal trustees expense for medical treatment).
