Austria - Re-Issuance of Identification (ID) Card

1.) You will need to apply for the re-issuance of identification card personally.
2.) The following passport offices offer applicants the opportunity to schedule online an appointment:
- District of St. Johann im Pongau
- Magistrate Graz
- Municipal District Offices Vienna
- City of Linz
- Magistrate catfish
Required DocumentsEdit
Neither identity card or passport are available:
- Official identification card or an identity of honor / witness an identity
- Birth certificate (may be required)
- Proof of citizenship
- A passport photo (Portrait 35 x 45 mm ) not older than six months after certain criteria passport photo (color or black and white)
- Maybe marriage certificate
- Maybe documented proof of an academic degree or professional title of Engineer / Engineer
No passport, but passport is available - personal data have remained the same:
- Passport (if expired, unequivocal recognition of the applicant / the applicant)
- Birth certificate (may be required)

Identity card is present - personal data have remained the same:
- Passport (if expired, unequivocal recognition of the applicant / the applicant)

Lost or Theft
- For stolen ID: Theft report
- For Lost ID: Verbal Declaration is enough
Note:
When you apply at the passport office (also in the municipal district offices in Vienna), no form is necessary, the passport authority takes on a transcript. The form is usually only when the application is about the municipal office needs.

The passport is valid for ten years, it's validity may not be extended. For subsequent entries, you will need to request for a new one.

Processing TimeEdit
The card is issued within approximately five working days by post to the address given ( eg sent home, work place, passport agency).
Expect a longer waiting time if you will be submitting your application form to municipal offices.

- In statutory cities : the City Council - In Vienna: the municipal district offices
Application for the ID is done in Austria. You may go to any passport offices, regardless of residence.
Some communities accept passport applications and they forward them to the competent authority.
