Personal applicationEdit

The application for a passport must personally be introduced.
The authority shall pass from the passport not directly, it is within approximately five working days by post to the address given ( eg sent home, work place, passport agency.
When application on the town is to be expected with a longer waiting time.

Detecting the fingerprintEdit

As part of the passport application are in people aged 12 Birthday using electronic fingerprint scanners, fingerprint captured. The scanner makes up images of two fingers (usually the index finger), then on a chip are stored in the passport.
A passport with chip can on the outer cover with the word "the little gold icon PASSPORT be recognized. " This is the so-called ICAO symbol of the International Civil Aviation Association ( ICAO ). On each world issued passport with chip this symbol is shown.

- Official identification card or an identity witness / witnesses of identity
- Birth certificate (may be required)
- Proof of citizenship
- A passport photo (Portrait 35 x 45 mm ) not older than six months after certain criteria passport photo (in color)
- Maybe marriage certificate
- Maybe documented proof of an academic degree or professional title of Engineer / Engineer

- Maybe marriage certificate or name change notification
- Maybe proof of citizenship
- Maybe documented proof of an academic degree or professional title of Engineer / Engineer

Loss / Theft - Was the passport stolen , a domestic theft display is needed. In case of loss of the oral notification to the passport authority is sufficient.

In individual cases, the passport authority of other documents are required - especially if it has doubts about the correctness of the data ( eg writing).

Prerequisite for the issuance of an Austrian passport is an Austrian citizen.

Passport: 75,90 EUR
Express Pass: 100 EUR
One-day Express Pass: 220 EUR

This fee is a flat fee, ie there are no other fees to pay ( eg for supplements).

ValidityEdit

The passport is valid for ten years . Thereafter, a new passport must be issued. It is not possible to renew your passport or later something is entered. Despite remaining validity of the passport can any time a new passport will be requested.
