- Obtain all necessary documents and make sure that you are eligible to apply for a certain driver's license category.
- You must pass both the theory and practical driving test for a certain category before you can obtain a license.

EligibilityEdit
Class C (C1)
- Possesion of category B license
- For C1: minimum age, 18 years old
- For C:
- minimum age of 21 years old or
- applicants who are 18 years old and holds a driver qualification verification
- applicants who are 18 years old, completed years and the teaching profession "professional drivers" according to the Ordinance of the Federal Minister of Economics and Labour, Federal Law Gazette II No. 190/2007 , (professional driver / professional driver training organization)
- applicants who are aged 18 and applying for a license for the following purposes: (1) used by the armed forces, civil defense, the fire service and forces responsible for maintaining public order forces themselves or under their supervision; (2) trials on the road to be made with those for technical development, repair and maintenance, and new or rebuilt vehicles which have not yet been put into operation.
Applicants can apply for licenses for categories B and C simultaneously. The applicant will only be allowed to take the practical driving test for category C, if he/she has passed both the theory and practical test for category B.
Class D (D1)
- Possesion of category B license
- For D1: minimum age, 21 years old
- For D:
- minimum age of 24 years old or
- applicants who are 21 years old and holds a driver qualification verification
- applicants who are aged 18 and applying for a license for the following purposes: (1) used by the armed forces, civil defense, the fire service and forces responsible for maintaining public order forces themselves or under their supervision; (2) trials on the road to be made with those for technical development, repair and maintenance, and new or rebuilt vehicles which have not yet been put into operation.
- 16 hour first aid course
Applicants for category D (only) must undergo a Traffic Psychological Screening (in addition to the medical exam), it will the applicant's:
- Observation and concentration
- Strength and coordination
- Motivation in acquiring a driving license

Class F
- minimum age of 18 years old
- 16 year olds are allowed to apply, with the following restrictions:
- Only agricultural vehicles
- Proof of the required mental and physical maturity
- Stipulation of necessary conditions or restrictions of driving license

Note: The costs can be settled at any time during office hours in cash directly to the Authority. In the variant of the payment slip attached payment slip should necessarily be used or at least be given the application number (otherwise it can assignment problems of monetary amounts to the authorities give).

Alchohol Limits
- For commissioning and steering of vehicles of category C whose permissible maximum mass exceeding 7,500 kg, an alcohol limit of 0.1 parts per thousand (per mil instead of 0.5) is imposed.
- For commissioning and steering of vehicles in category D, an alcohol limit of 0.1 parts per thousand (per mil instead of 0.5) is imposed.
- For commissioning and steering of vehicles of category F for those aged under 20,an alcohol limit of 0.1 parts per thousand (instead of 0.5 parts per thousand)is imposed.
