Apply by post:
- To Export Meat and Meat Product, the applicant has to approach the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and Forestry link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office's postal address.
- The postal address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- The annual meat export license charge is $326.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The officials will come for the site- inspection to check the product.
- Once all the process gets completed successfully, the applicant gets the export certificate.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

The Export Meat Program provides inspection, verification, and certification services to the export meat industry in Australia
Services provided include:
- The provision of export certification acceptable to Australia’s trading partners
- a scientifically-based inspection system that underpins the production of wholesome meat and meat products
- a capacity for ongoing scientific review of the inspection system
- the supply of inspection services and veterinary oversight as required to all establishments registered for export with the Department of Agriculture, Water, and the Environment
