Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Apply for Scuba Diving License, the applicant has to approach the Local authorities or the respective institute.
2. Research and choose a reputable scuba diving training agency that is recognized internationally and by relevant Australian authorities. Some well-known training agencies include PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), SSI (Scuba Schools International), NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors), and RAID (Rebreather Association of International Divers), among others.
3. Choose a scuba diving course that aligns with your skill level and goals. Common entry-level courses include the PADI Open Water Diver course or the SSI Open Water Diver course.
4. Complete a medical questionnaire or obtain a medical certificate to ensure you meet the physical requirements for scuba diving. Some medical conditions may require a physician's approval.
5. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
6. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
7. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
13. Upon successful completion of the course requirements, you will receive a scuba diving certification from the training agency. This certification, often referred to as a "Diver Certification Card" or "C-Card," indicates your level of training and qualification.
14. After obtaining your initial scuba diving certification, you can pursue advanced training and specialty courses to further enhance your skills and knowledge.
15. This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
