- To Apply for Scuba Diving License, the applicant has to approach the Local authorities or the respective institute.
- Research and choose a reputable scuba diving training agency that is recognized internationally and by relevant Australian authorities. Some well-known training agencies include PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), SSI (Scuba Schools International), NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors), and RAID (Rebreather Association of International Divers), among others.
- Choose a scuba diving course that aligns with your skill level and goals. Common entry-level courses include the PADI Open Water Diver course or the SSI Open Water Diver course.
- Complete a medical questionnaire or obtain a medical certificate to ensure you meet the physical requirements for scuba diving. Some medical conditions may require a physician's approval.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Upon successful completion of the course requirements, you will receive a scuba diving certification from the training agency. This certification, often referred to as a "Diver Certification Card" or "C-Card," indicates your level of training and qualification.
- After obtaining your initial scuba diving certification, you can pursue advanced training and specialty courses to further enhance your skills and knowledge.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
