  1. Before cancelling your business name:
    1. Log in to your ASIC connect account. Have your business name linked to your ASIC Connect account.
    2. To ensure you get your cancellation notices, keep your addresses up-to-date.
    3. You must also make sure that you authorisation to act on behalf of a business name holder.
  2. Cancel your business name using ASIC Connect:
    1. Log in to your ASIC connect account.
    2. Click the Lodgements & Notifications tab, select the business name you are cancelling then click Cancel/Transfer business name.
    3. Review your transaction before confirmation.
  3. Cancel your business name by email: You can cancel your business name by email if your renewal date has passed (this can be checked by completing a Business Name Index search), or ASIC received your email less than 30 days before your renewal date. To cancel your business name:
    1. Complete a Business Name Index search.
    2. Send an email request to [email protected]. In your email, include the following information: your business name, previous state and registration number (if applicable), your name, email address and telephone number (include area code).
    3. ASIC will confirm your email has been received within five business days. The cancellation process will begin four weeks after the review date has passed, then they will send a notification of the intent to cancel.
