ProcedureEdit

  1. Go to any embassy of Australia or Australian consulate in your home or nearby country or visit the Australian immigration department website. http://www.immi.gov.au to find out the visa requirements;
  2. Obtain a visitor visa application from any nearby Australian embassy, consulate office or high commission.
    1. The form can also be downloaded from http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/600.aspx. Read instructions on form carefully, fill it in accurately and ensure that the application form is signed and also put date.
  3. Make copies of all required documents and attach to the application (copies of payment slips must also be attached); and
  4. Go to an Australian consulate office embassy or high commission and submit your application.

To apply on line, go to http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/600.aspx and start application

  • Complete the Online Visitor Visa Application.
  • Enter travel information and passport details for applicant.
  • Make payment.
  • After payment, application is processed and a visa shall be linked to your passport number when approved.
  • Application status is then confirmed by email within a few minutes.

  4. Holders should not also engage in direct selling of goods to the public
  5. Visa are valid for the period given when the issuing visa;
  6. Ensure that you have the right application form for the visa you need;
  7. Issuance of a visa does not imply entry into the country; the immigration department has the upper hand.
  8. Enter through designated entry points.

A visitor visa is issued to a foreigner for purposes of visiting a country in which he /she does not hold citizenship. In Australia a visitor visa is also referred to as subclass 600, it lets a foreigner enter into the country to have a holiday, visit family or friends or engage in social visitor activities like sightseeing, social or recreational reasons, medical reasons or a person may be passing through to continue to another country.

  • There are no refunds nonce payment is made for instance If visa application is rejected, fees paid are not refundable;
  • An applicant has the obligation to pay other required fees like costs of police certificate, health assessments and police certificates, or any other certificates or tests and translation fees if need.
