Australia - Apply for a Business Visa

- Before applying, an applicant should go through the visa security regulations in Australia;
- Decide the visa subclass under which he / she would like to apply for a visa;
- An applicant should proceed with getting all information related to the subclass visa he / she wishes to apply for and assess if you qualify for it;
- An applicant must go for criminal and health checks. Ensure that the tests ate passed and that certificates are issued as proof.
- Obtain the appropriate visa application form and fill it in correctly; Application forms can be obtained from the nearest Australian Visa Application Centre / embassy, high commission or consulate office or by downloading the forms from the Australian immigration website.
- Attach all required documents, make necessary payments and submit application
- After submission a Transaction Reference Number (TRN) is issued, an interview is scheduled at an Australian embassy or consulate. An applicant must pass the interview with immigration officials before being granted a visa.

USA applicants may apply on line by visiting http://canberra.usembassy.gov/how_to_apply.html. Below is what should be done
- Prepare an appropriate digital photo.
- Go to http://canberra.usembassy.gov/how_to_apply.html and complete an online form DS-160
- Once completed, the information in the DS-160 will be electronically transmitted and an applicant must then print the confirmation page that includes some biographical information and a bar code confirmation number.
- The applicant should then create a profile at http://canberra.usembassy.gov/how_to_apply.html and then make payment.
- After payment, Schedule an appointment for a nonimmigrant visa interview at the Consulate you selected at the start of the DS-160 online visa application.
- Gather the documents required. The applicant must carry in addition to other requirements the printed DS-160 Confirmation Page to their interview.
- Submit the documents in person on your designated appointment date.
- In most cases when visa is approved, the passport and visa are sent to the applicant by mail.

- Have a valid passport with a blank page;
- An applicant must have a successful business or investment career;
- An applicant must have a genuine commitment to engage in business activities in Australia
- Ensure that all information given is true and that all documents submitted are genuine;
- Holding a visa is not automatic entry into the country, the immigration department has the upper hand of allowing or rejecting entry;
- Always use designated entry to enter into Australia;
- Do not carry harmful materials when coming to Australia;
- Be ready to comply with the laws of the country;
- Provisional Business Visa applicants must obtain a substantial ownership interest in a business in;
- Applicant should an active participant at a senior level of the day-to-day management of that business;
- After issuance of visa, an applicant must provide input into the Australian economy in most cases within the first 24 months after their initial entry and this should be by active involvement for instance by: -
- Exporting Australian products
- Introducing new technology;
- Developing business links with international markets;
- Creating employment opportunities in Australia;
- Produce goods or services that would otherwise be imported;
- Failure to meet requirements after issuance of visa may lead to cancellation;
- Investor Visa applicants after getting the visa must maintain their Designated Investment for a 4 year term; failure may result in visa cancellation.
- After issuance of visa and initial entry into the country, an applicant must notify the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) of their residential address within 6 months; and
- In cases of any changes in residential address an applicant should notify the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) within 28 days of a change of address.
