Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for the demarcation of land approach the circle officer or you can apply to Lot Mandal of your district.
2. Obtain the prescribed application form from the circle office. Details about Barpeta district’s revenue circle is given in the following link : Revenue Circle
3. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
4. Submit the form to the circle office along with the required documents.

6. Refer the circle office location mentioned in the “Office location & contacts” section below.
7. Once, the application is submitted, notice is sent to the neighboring properties and local RI (Revenue Inspector) office in order to verify the neighboring plots and the land that you are applying for demarcation.
8. Once it is verified, the local RI contacts you on your mobile number or on your postal address to confirm about your application.
9. Once it is confirmed, a person is assigned from the local RI office to demarcate your land on a specific date when both the person and the applicant are free.
10. On the particular day that person will come along with the map of the locality.
11. With the tools he will measure and demarcate the land.

There is no facility to apply online for demarcation of land.

Required Documents

The following documents must be attached with the application form to apply for demarcation of land.

• Details schedule of the land with area under possession
• Consent of co pattadars.
• Up to date land revenue receipt.
• User fee Rs 1000 for urban area & Rs 100.00 for rural area.

Eligibility

Any citizen of India who owns the land/property can apply

Fees

The fee for demarcation is as follows

• For house site Rs.10/-.
• Agricultural land up to 2 hectare Rs.25/-.
• Agricultural land between 2 hectares to 4 hectares Rs.50/-

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.
e.g. Birth Certificate Valid Forever

• It should establish the real extension of the area under Owner's possession, assuring the protection of the demarcated limits and keeping invaders away.
