Arunachal Pradesh - Register a Marriage and Obtain Certificate

Following are the ways through which you can register a marriage in Arunachal Pradesh.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To register for a marriage approach the department of law, legislative and justice of your district.
  2. Download the application form from the below link Application
  3. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  4. Submit the form to the District collectorate office along with the required documents. More details about the District collectorate office location is provided in the following link Senior Bureaucrats
  5. Refer the District collectorate Office location mentioned in the “Office location & contacts” section below.
  6. Sign the register after 30 days Notice Period in Registrar Office along with three witness with identity proof.
  7. Witness should be blood relatives and close relatives.
  8. For registration, Bride and groom with three stamp size photo physically present before the marriage officer along with the witness and proof.


Apply through Centre:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with ”Required Documents” to the office.
  6. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  7. The operator will process the application online.
  8. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  9. Sign the register after 30 days' Notice Period in the Registrar Office along with three witnesses with identity proof.
  10. Witnesses should be blood relatives and close relatives.
  11. For registration, bride and groom will need three stamp size photos and should be physically present before the marriage officer along with the witness and proof.
  12. Upon successful registration, the applicant(s) will get a registration certificate.

  • Bride and groom should be the resident of arunachalpradesh.
  • Male should be above 21 years and female should be above 18 years of age.
  • Both should be unmarried for fresh marriage.
  • Both should be unrelated.
  • Three Witnesses to be present at the time of solemnization for marriage.**

InstructionsEdit

Marriage should be registered within the 3 months of request of marriage.

  • If not registered within the same period, request will be cancelled.
  • If request is approved then applicant is required to pay Rs. 50/- through Challan.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • If you are applying for a passport or opening a bank account, post the wedding, a Marriage Certificate is required and comes in handy.
  • It is extremely helpful in obtaining visas for both, the husband and wife.
  • As foreign embassies in India as well as countries outside India, do not recognize traditional marriages, the Marriage Certificate is mandatory for the couple travelling abroad on a spouse visa.
  • Make the process of claiming life insurance return or bank deposits in case of demise of the
  • Insurer or depositor without any nominee easier.
