Procedure

1. To apply for a medical fitness certificate in Arunachal Pradesh the applicant has to approach the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
2. Application Forms 1-a is required. Application form can be downloaded from the following link : Form 1a
3. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
   
4. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
5. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
6. Go to a medical officer to examine
7. Medical officer will look in to the test results as required
8. He will issue the medical certificate.

• For the renewal of driving license and the candidate age is 50 years and above

Fees

Minimum of Rs.200 will be charged ( This fees changes from Doctor to Doctor )

Medical certificate is valid for 6months

Need for the Document

• A medical fitness certificate is issued by medical practitioner who is eligible to issue for the needy. This certificate assures the health condition for issuance of DL.
• A medical fitness certificate is required to apply for a driving license in few conditions as per our Indian norms.
• For non-commercial drivers below age 50 : self-certify one's own health by submitting Form 1.
• For commercial drivers and non-commercial drivers above age of 50 need to submit Form 1A, filled, signed and stamped by a registered medical practitioner.

• It is a punishable offense to drive the vehicle without a valid license
• Those who are under 18 years are not supposed to drive
