Following are the ways through which you can apply for new arms (gun) license or you can renew the expired arms license in Arunachal Pradesh.
Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for the new arms (gun) license or to renew the expired arms license approach the Deputy Commissioner of police of your district. Download form- A of from the below link Application
  2. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  3. Submit the form to the Deputy Commissioner office along with the required documents. More details about the Deputy Commissioner office location is provided in the following link :Contact us
  4. Refer the Deputy Commissioner Office location mentioned in the “Office location & contacts” section below.
  5. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding your proof which you have submitted along with the form, criminal records if any and some general investigations.
  6. You will be receiving the acknowledgment slip after the successful verification.
  7. A license with 3-year expiry period will be issued by the authority after verifying all the details submitted by the applicant.
  8. Collect your license from the regional deputy commissioner’s office where you have applied.
  9. After the expiry period, the applicant should follow the same procedure to renew the arms license.

Apply through Centres

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with ”Required Documents” to the office.
  6. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  7. The operator will process the application online.
  8. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  9. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding the proof of submitted documents along with the form.
  10. After the application form is processed, an enquiry officer will make a thorough verification regarding the application, criminal records, if any, and some general investigations.
  11. Upon the successful verification, the applicant will be permitted for renewed license.
  12. Collect the license from the respective centre in a stipulated period of time.

Following are the list of documents that has to be enclosed along with the application form to get new arms (gun) license

  • Personal particulars
  • Address proof
  • Age proof
  • Police verification report
  • Recent Passport size photograph and signature of the applicant
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) in case of employees in service 
  • Medical Fitness certificate about mental health and physical fitness

For Renewal

  • Arms license in original.
  • Weapon Deposit certificate in case of expiry of renewal date.
  • Proof of present residential address.

For Transfer Case
When the original licensee is alive:

  • During his life-time, the license may transfer the arms license to legal heirs by making an application in plain paper.
  • The person to whom license is to be transferred shall apply in Form “A”.

When the original licensee has expired:

  • Application shall be made in Form “A”.
  • No objection from the legal heirs, in the form of an affidavit sworn before a magistrate.
  • Two Passport size photographs.
