Apply Online
- To Apply for a Common Account Number (CAN), the applicant has to make their application online via the MFU online portal link
- The applicant has to click the “Click here” option.
- If the applicant has to create a new record, the applicant has to enter the email ID or mobile number and click the “New Form” button.
- A verification code will be sent to the email ID. Please input the verification code received and click the “Verify” button.
- In the first step, the applicant needs to complete the CAN criteria and click the “Next” button.
- Complete the personal details in the next step and click the “Next” button.
- Followed by completing the bank details and clicking the “Next” button.
- Check out with the nominee option and click the “Next” button.
- Finally, upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page and click the “Submit for eCAN”
- The fee for applying for a Common Account Number is free of cost.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- In some cases, the applicant may need to visit a POS, typically provided by CAMS or other registrars, to complete the KYC verification process. During this visit, his/her photograph and signature will be verified.
- All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
- The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
- After the application is processed and verified, the applicant will receive a Common Account Number (CAN). This number can be used to invest in multiple mutual funds without having to provide KYC documents repeatedly.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for a Common Account Number (CAN), the applicant has to approach MF Utilities India Pvt Ltd link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.or it can be downloaded from the following link link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- If the applicant already holds investments in mutual funds, attach proof of these investments along with the application form.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The fee for applying for a Common Account Number is free of cost.
