To obtain a duplicate Marriage certificate or Marriage certificate, the applicant submits his application together with an identification document.

If a duplicate certificate requested Civilian Regional or local authority to apply to the authorized person, then in addition to the above documents must be submitted by the applicant Civilian territorial department on behalf of a notary or a notary certified power of attorney by the acts of a person entitled to the identification authorizing.

In order to receive a marriage certificate or a duplicate copy of a marriage certificate or marriage certificate seeker set of documents can also be submitted by mail.

Foreign nationals or stateless persons are also in Armenian passport and notarized or certified by the international agreements of the translation.

In case of application by post should be marked as a duplicate license or certificate, e-mail address, in case of incomplete documents shall notify the applicant.

The application must be submitted by mail, in order to be certified by a notary signature and (or) the international treaties of the procedure.

Marriage Certificate or a copy of the marriage certificate, the marriage certificate or duplicate marriage certificate seeker's request and at its own expense, will be provided via certified mail if the applicant has noted in his application of it.

The following documents are submitted to the Ministry of Justice.

EligibilityEdit

It is issued by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Foreign country of reference seeker (authorized person, parent) can apply for a certificate to qualify for the State of Armenia's diplomatic representation or consular institution (the consulate).

It can be obtained by:

  • The person to whom the record made by the Civil Status Act
  • Parents, legal representatives or custody and guardianship representative, if the person whose record was made in a civil act, was incapable of acquiring a copy of the certificate.
  • Another person, if he act of civil status registration certificate by the person entitled to receive a copy of the notarized or certified by a person authorized to perform notarial deed.

The fee is AMD 1000

One working days notice for providing extra pay additional fee, the amount of 10,000, and two business days for delivery for the 7000 AMD.

Marriage Certificates are issued by the Ministry of Justice's Civic Status Registration Department (also known as ZAGS) having jurisdiction over the locality where the individual resides or lived.


Required InformationEdit

  • Indicate the type of certificate you requested (birth, death or marriage)
  • Applicants name and telephone number
  • Name of the subject (the person to be listed on the certificate)
  • Date of the event, and
  • Order / file number, if available



Need for the DocumentEdit

A Marriage Certificate is an official copy of the marriage registration and is often used to help establish a person's identity.

Before a Marriage Certificate can be produced, your marriage must be registered. Your civil or religious marriage celebrant will register the marriage on your behalf.

If the applicant is not a spouse, a judicial or other proper purpose must be documented. An example of a judicial or other proper purpose would be a marriage record needed by the applicant to claim a benefit. Documentation would consist of an official letter from the agency verifying that to process the claim they require from the applicant a copy of the requested marriage record.

A marriage certificate is a document containing the details of a marriage performed in Armenia. You can order a copy or multiple copies if the marriage is registered in Armenia. You can use this certificate to change your name, process a divorce, or as a record of family history.

If you'd like your certificate to be faxed to an Armenian passport office, consulate or embassy, you'll need to make that request at the same time as your application, as standalone requests are not accepted. Please include a request letter if mailing your application.
