Procedure

In person

1. To obtain a copy of a divorce certificate, you must go to the Civil Registry Office where the divorce record is kept. Check the link provided below to search for the address where you can submit your request.
2. Complete an application and submit it together with your valid identification.
3. Pay for the certificate.

Via postal service

1. Send all prescribed documents via mail. Check the link provided below to search for the address where you can send your request.
2. Do not forget to include your telephone number and e-mail address, it will be used to contact you in case your application is incomplete or there are any missing documents.
3. In case of submission of the application via mail, the signature needs to be certified by a notary public and (or) attested as prescribed by international treaties of the Republic of Armenia.
4. If the certificate you are requeating is your own, you may indicate in your application that you wish to receive your certificate via registered mail (at your expense).
5. Payment for the provision of postal service is made by the person applying for a duplicate copy of certificate or a statement of information, in compliance with the tariffs applicable in the Republic of Armenia or those for postal services applicable in foreign States. Moreover, payments for the provision of postal services are made to the following extra-budgetary account of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia: 900013194064.

Required Documents

• Valid identification
• Completed application
• If you have authorized someone to apply for the procedure on your behalf: Authorization letter, certified by a notary public or a person competent to exercise notarial functions, as well as the photocopy of the identification document of the authorising person.
• Additional documents for requests submitted via postal service:
  • Foreign citizens or stateless persons shall also submit the Armenian translation of their passports certified by a notary public and (or) attested as prescribed by international treaties of the Republic of Armenia.

A duplicate copy of a divorce certificate may be issued to the

• a person in respect of whom the record of civil status act has been made;
• another person, if he or she presents a letter of attorney certified by a notary public or a person competent to exercise notarial functions, on behalf of the person entitled to receive a duplicate copy of certificate on state registration of a civil status act.
