- To Apply for a Certificate of Naturalization, the applicant has to use the following link
- The applicant has to click the “File online”.
- If the applicant is a new user, click the “Create account” button.
- Enter the details and click the “Sign up”.
- Now the applicant has to enter the email id, and password and click the “Sign In” button.
- The applicant has to select the type of application.
- Enter all the necessary details in the application form.
- Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- After completion of all the steps click the “Submit” button.
- USCIS may require that the applicant appears for an interview or provide fingerprints, photographs, and/or signatures at any time to verify the identity and other information.
- The applicant gets the appointment slot date and time from the officer through call or mail.
- The applicant has to visit for the biometric purpose.
- Once the verification process gets completed, the applicant will get the notification through mail.
- Now, the applicant can download the certificate through login to the account.
- The processing time for this procedure is up to 3 – 4 weeks.

EligibilityEdit
- Be 18 years old or older at the time of filing Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.
- Be a lawful permanent resident (have a “Green Card”).
- Demonstrate continuous permanent residence in the United States for at least 5 years. (In some cases, this may be 3 years if the applicant is married to a U.S. citizen.)
- Show that the applicant has been physically present in the United States for 30 months. (In some cases, this may be 18 months if the applicant is married to a U.S. citizen.)
- Show that the applicant has lived for at least 3 months in the state or USCIS district where they claim residence

- NOTE: The filing fee is not refundable, regardless of any action USCIS takes on this application.
