ProcedureEdit

  1. To apply for a Certificate of Disability (Certificado Unico de Discapacidad - CUD) you will need to secure first a medical certificate, reports, and documents that will serve as proof of your disability.
  2. Present your documents to your local Disability Certification Board. You may need to submit or present additional documents, use the link provided under 'Required Documents' section to know more.
  3. Attend the evaluation that will be conducted by the Board.
  4. Wait for a decision from the board.

ValidityEdit

The validity of the certificate depends on the age and functional status of the holder:

  • From 0 to 5 years of age, up to 5 years of validity (maximum).
  • Over 5 years, 10 years maximum.


The Disability Certificate is document valid throughout Argentina.

The CUD is issued by the Disability Certification Board in each provinces.

Required InformationEdit

A list which displays the kind of information which is required to complete the procedure.

Need for the DocumentEdit

Having a CUD will give you access to the following:

  • ANSES family allowances (Law 22,431, Art. 14)
  • Full coverage of basic habilitation and rehabilitation in union healthcare, private health insurance companies and the federal program “Include Health” (Law 24,901)
  • Non-contributory pensions
  • Full coverage of prescription medicine (Law 23,662 Art. 28)
  • Free public transportation across the country (Decree 38/2004)
  • Employment in the public sector, according to Labor Quota Law 25,689
  • Prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, hearing aids
  • Access to education at regular public schools with a team of specialists
  • The right to demand the removal of architectural barriers or any other element that hinders access to public or private locations
  • International access sticker for vehicles allowing free parking for people with disabilities, always subject to local traffic laws in each jurisdiction
  • The right to reserve an exclusive parking space on the street in front of their home for people with severe motor impairment
  • Tax exemptions, according to the laws of each jurisdiction
  • Exemption from the license plate tax, in some jurisdictions
