ProcedureEdit
- Both parties must go to a Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar or any of the Marriage Officers. Bring all the required documents stated below.
- Present and submit your documents to the person in-charge.
- Fill in an application form and sign it at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs in St. Johns.
Notes:
- For a special license, there is no waiting time in the country to obtain it.
- If you are overseas and need a marriage license, you must call the office directly and they will give you instructions for how to apply. You will need to provide the Groom's name, the Bride's maiden name, place of marriage (Hotel etc), and date of marriage.

Ordinary License and Special License
- Valid passport, test passport or birth certificate
- Valid ID picture (drivers license or state issued ID)
- Proof of Status:
- Single a declaration is signed within Antigua and Barbuda or letter stating status by some person well known in the community.
- Divorced Original Decree Absolute which includes the seal of the court where the Decree is issued or certified copy of Decree which includes the seal of the court where the Decree is issued.
- Widow or Widower Marriage Certificate and Death Certificate of husband or wife.
- Deed Poll (if a change of name has taken place in any case of an applicant)

EligibilityEdit
- Both parties must be over 18 years of age. If under 18, a written authorization from parents or guardians is required.
- One of the parties must be a resident of Antigua and Barbuda for a period of 15 days immediately preceding the date of the application for a license.
FeesEdit
- A Registration fee of EC$ 100.00 or US$ 37.00 to be paid at the Registrars Office.
- If the wedding ceremony is to be performed outside of the Courthouse, there is a marriage officer fee of US$ 100.00.
- The petition for a Special License shall be accompanied by a fee of US$ 150.00.
- Copies of your Marriage Certificate are available at a cost of EC$25.

InstructionsEdit
- Both parties must be present in the time of application for a license.
- It is important that all documents presented are original or certified original by the issuing departments or offices.
- Ensure that all documents are in your legal name, and provide affidavits in cases where you are known by another name.
- Marriage ceremonies can be performed between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 PM.
- Every marriage must also be solemnized or celebrated in the presence of two or more witnesses, apart from the Marriage Officer.
