Antigua and Barbuda - Apply for Driver Permit or License
ProcedureEdit
- First you will have to get a learner’s permit before you start your lessons
- You will need to get all documents mentioned below and fill the application form from the transport board which will cost you $50
- When you have the permit, take driving lessons form a licensed instructor preferably enrol yourself in a driving school.
- After several lessons, you will be require to take two exams a written test and a theory test which you will have to pass. Written exams pass mark is 75 percent.
- A driver’s license will be issued after passing your exams.

EligibilityEdit
All residence of age 16 and above who are medically fit to drive in Antigua and Barbuda.
FeesEdit
- Approximately 200 to 300 XCD. Renewal Fee: Around 100 XCD every 3 to 6 years.
ValidityEdit

InstructionsEdit
For Writing a Theory Test
- Students must present a valid learners permit
- Must be in the exam room fifteen (15) mins before the start of the exam
- Must be in possession of a pen or pencil with which to write
- Must turn off cellular phones or any other electronic devices while taking the test
- Must reschedule if inflicted with influenza, or any other illnesses that could interfere with performance on the test Must present permits when collecting the results for the written test
For Taking the Practical Exam
- Students must have passed the theory exam
- Students must present receipt of payment in order to book a date
- Students must have had a minimum of 40hrs instructions from an approved driving school
- Students must not wear slippers on test
- Must have a medical certificate advising of suitability to take the test if visibly pregnant
