Apply Online:

  1. To Apply for ISP (Internet Service Provider) License, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
  2. If the applicant is an existing user, they can click “Login” and enter login id and password to login.
  3. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant must click “Registration” enter the required credentials and then login.
  4. After login, the applicant must click “Apply Now” on UL (Unified License) tab.
  5. Then the applicant must enter the details of the company and click the “next “button to go to the next step.
  6. Payment is auto-calculated as per the selection of service authorisations selected. This only displays the fee to be paid using online mode in Bharatkosh after the submission of the application.
  7. Next the applicant must upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
    Note: All the documents to be uploaded must be in “pdf format” and “digitally Signed”. The portal will automatically reject any document which is not digitally signed or in pdf format.
  8. Next follow the instructions and complete the rest of the application by entering the details of owners and partners.
  9. Accept all terms and conditions by clicking on the checkbox and save the form by clicking the “save draft” button.
  10. Now next button is disabled as this is the final stage. You can go to any previous stage using the “previous” button and can do the changes.
  11. Now, validate & preview the application form using the “Validate & Preview Application Form” button. If any discrepancies in the form, then it will get reflected on the top of the page.
  12. After this process form should be submitted using the “submit” button.
  13. If no discrepancy then on the top right corner “validation successful message” gets displayed & you will be redirected to the Payment screen.
  14. On Click of the Pay Now Button, you will be redirected to the Bharatkosh Payment gateway. Please pay the payment as prescribed.
  15. On completion of successful payment, Download the application to PDF of the completed application and upload the digitally signed PDF application and click final submit of the application.
  16. After receipt of the application and all documents, the DOT officer will accept the application after verification. The DOT officer will issue LOI after acceptance of the application.
  17. Applicants will be notified about it by SMS on their registered Mobile number, thereafter they can download the LOI (Letter of Intent) from their dashboard by Logging in.
  18. After LOI issuance, Applicant will upload signed LOI, BG (Bank Guarantee) Details and will do online
  19. payment of the Entry Fee through a single form by clicking on the link shown in their dashboard.
  20. Next the applicant has to select BG (Bank Guarantee) Type and enter BG details to upload the BG file. In the case of UL application, BG Type will be performance and financial and in the case of VNO application, only financial BG (Bank Guarantee).
  21. Next the applicant has to pay the Online Payment of Entry Fee by clicking on “Pay NOW” which will be redirected to the Bharatkosh portal.
  22. After successful validation and submission of BG, Entry Fee and signed LOI, it will available for scrutiny at the nodal side.
  23. Now these uploaded documents will be scrutinized by DoT and if any discrepancies are found then those documents will be reverted to you for uploading them again. This is illustrated below, suppose your entry fee has some discrepancy then it will be reverted to you and then you are supposed to upload it again.
  24. after successful scrutiny of the bank guarantee and entry fee. Now the application is pending Invitation acceptance.
  25. The applicant has to click “Final Submit” on Invitation Acceptance.
  26. After acceptance of the Invitation, DoT will issue you the License Certificate. You can download your License Certificate from your dashboard by clicking the “Download License Certificate”
  27. This entire process can be completed within 30 – 60 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

  • A company registered under Company Act 1956/2013 is qualified in India to obtain an ISP (Internet Service Provider) License.



FeesEdit

ISP category A (National Area)

  • ISP Entry Fees in Rupees - 30 Lakhs
  • PBG In Rupees - 40 Lakhs
  • FBG In Rupees - 2 lakhs
  • Application Process Fee in Rupees - 50,000.


ISP category B (Telecom Circle/ Metro Area)

  • ISP Entry Fees in Rupees - 2 Lakhs
  • PBG In Rupees - 2 Lakhs
  • FBG In Rupees – 20,000
  • Application Process Fee in Rupees - 15,000.


ISP category C (Secondary Switching Area)

  • ISP Entry Fees in Rupees – 20,000
  • PBG In Rupees – 10,000
  • FBG In Rupees – 2000
  • Application Process Fee in Rupees - 10,000.



ValidityEdit

  • The validity of an ISP license in India is 20 years. After 20 years, you will need to renew your license if you want to continue providing internet services.
