Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Goods Carriage (Pucca) Permit in Andhra Pradesh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office : Contacts Link

4. Make sure you have all the necessary documents
5. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented along with documents and appropriate fees.
6. Officials would start processing your application.
7. Important verification for the permit includes Vehicle condition, Body built arrangements etc.. will be carried by authorities.
8. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed further.

Apply through State Portal

1. Application for goods carriage (Pucca) Permit can be made through : Online Portal
2. Please select “Permit Services” under “Permit menu” to get next screen
3. Click “New Permit” and hit “NEXT”
4. In the next screen, select “Primary” under permit type and also fill in the appropriate details as prompted and click NEXT to reach the next page to complete online application procedure.
5. You have to choose the day and time that you are planning to visit the RTO office related to the application and click “Next” button that is displayed on the bottom of the screen.
6. Please follow the instructions appropriately that are displayed in the follow screens for filling the application forms and making payments and uploading required documents.
7. Take printout of the application form including acknowledgement and go to RTO office before 11:30 a.m. on the date of appointment and Present the completed application forms along with required documents in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.

• Aadhaar Card
• Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
• Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
• Insurance Certificate.
• Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
• Affidavit Sworn by the applicant before an Executive (or) a First Class Judicial Magistrate (or) Notary Public
• Passport size photo-2
• Pollution under control certificate
• PROOF OF ADDRESS (any one of the following to be produced)

Eligibility

• You should be the owner of the vehicle.
• The age of the vehicle should not exceed 12 years

Validity

• Permit is usually valid for 5 years
• The renewal of permit can be obtained with Vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO
• The age of the vehicle is also considered to restrict the validity of the permit

NOTE: Validity differs with the type of vehicle and also for the load the vehicle can manage

Need for the Document

• A Regional Transport Authority may, on an application made to it under Rule 174 (iv) of the Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 grant a goods carriage permit to be valid throughout the State
• Goods Carriage Permit is needed for a vehicle operator to ply his vehicle to carry goods from one place to another.
• Vehicles with this permit……
  • Be used only in a specified area or on a specified route or routes
  • That goods of a specified nature shall not be carried
  • That goods shall be carried at specified rates etc.;,

• The age of the vehicle should not exceed 12 years.

• Holder of the permit shall furnish to the Regional Transport Authority such periodical returns, statistics and other information as the State Government may, from time to time, prescribe.
• FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
