Procedure

Through Meeseva

1. To Add or Delete name in Ration card, the applicant shall approach the nearby Andhra Pradesh Meeseva Centre office – link
2. In the given page, please click on the “Useful Links” menu and choose “Authorized Service Providers” option to get a new page.
3. Here click on the numbers provided against the district name to get the contact details.
4. Please contact the office and if the office has the complete facility to process the request, please visit the center.
5. The applicant shall collect the Application form from Meeseva center (please pay for form if required).
6. The applicant shall complete the application form or the operator will process the online application as appropriate.
7. Please provide the documents as listed in our required documents section. Also, please provide additional documents if any.
8. The applicants are advised to follow the operator guidelines to complete the process (bio metric, photo and authentication) to finish applying.
9. On completion of online filing, a printout or SMS alert will be provided that carries application number.
10. Keep it safe for future reference. An SMS alert will be sent to the registered mobile number for initiation of this process. The applicant shall follow the SMS alert for the update.
11. This application will be forwarded to the concerned Ward/ Grama Panchayath official for verification. The concerned official visits the house of the applicant for verification and approves the request, if the applicant is found eligible.
12. Advance SMS intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his or her application.
13. The department will make necessary changes or addition of records in their records. The updated printout can be obtained as per the department norms.
14. The applicant shall get in touch with the Meeseva center if there is any delay as they might provide any clarity as they deal with this procedure quite often.
15. The applicant shall follow the authority concerned for the issue of updated ration card.

Apply In-Person

1. Ration Card holder shall approach the ration shop of their respective area as applicable.

4. Please contact the office and get the concerned authority or office to apply for this procedure.
5. Go to the respective office.
6. Applicant shall obtain the application form from the office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written/electronically typed application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used.
7. Please submit the completed application along with the required documents to the respective authority.
8. The authority may ask the applicant to authenticate their biometric. Please follow their guidelines.
9. Authorities after checking the submitted application along with the attached documents will make entries and provide you record number or a challan.

Eligibility

• A valid ration card holder.
• The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
• The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
• The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
• New born above 5 years
• Addition of member name after marriage

• Validity remains same
• Usually Family identity card is valid for lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on announcement.
