Following are the ways through which you can register a marriage in Andaman and Nicobar.
Apply In-Person:
- To register for a marriage approach the Additional Divisional Magistrate (ADM), Deputy Commissioner Office of your district.
- Download the application form under the Special Marriage Act 1954 from the below Application form
- Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
- Submit the form to the Additional Divisional Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner office along with the required documents. More details about the Deputy Commissioner office location is provided in the following Office Location
- Refer the Deputy Commissioner Office location mentioned in the “Office location & contacts” section below.
- Sign the register after 30 days Notice Period in Registrar Office along with three witness with identity proof.
- Witness should be blood relatives and close relatives.
- For registration, Bride and groom with three stamp size photo physically present before the marriage officer along with the witness and proof.
Apply Online:
- To register a marriage and obtain a marriage certificate in Andaman and Nicobar Islands online, the applicant has to follow the given link: Link.
- Enter the valid Email id and password to login if already a user, otherwise, create a new one by clicking “Create account” in the citizen login.
- After the successful login, click on “Useful Service” which is displayed on the home page of the portal.
- The application form for the marriage certificate will open up on the next screen.
- Fill out the application with the required details and attach the prescribed documents mentioned in the required documents section below.
- Click on the “Submit” button after completing the details in the application form.
- Upon submission, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement slip as the confirmation of submission.
- After submission, verification of all the documents will be done by the authorized inspector.
- After verification, the applicant can obtain the marriage certificate from the concerned authority with the help of an acknowledgement slip.

- Proof of Residence.
- Affidavit to the effect of being unmarried unrelated and declaration of age.

EligibilityEdit
- Bride and groom should be the resident of Andaman and Nicobar.
- Male should be above 21 years and female should be above 18 years of age.
- Both should be unmarried for fresh marriages.
- Both should be unrelated.
- Three Witnesses to be present at the time of solemnization fo marriage.
FeesEdit
- Rs 100/- in case of Hindu Marriage Act
- Rs 150/- in case of Special Marriage Act
- The fees have to be deposited with the cashier of the District and the receipt attached with the application form.

- Marriage should be registered within the 3 months of request of marriage.
- If not registered within the same period, request will be cancelled.
- If request is approved then applicant is required to pay Rs. 50/- through Challan.

- Condition and occupation of the bride and groom.

- Details about the ceremony.
Need for the DocumentEdit
- If you are applying for a passport or opening a bank account, post the wedding, a Marriage Certificate is required and comes in handy.
- It is extremely helpful in obtaining visas for both, the husband and wife.
- As foreign embassies in India as well as countries outside India, do not recognize traditional marriages, the Marriage Certificate is mandatory for the couple travelling abroad on a spouse visa.
- Make the process of claiming life insurance return or bank deposits in case of demise of the Insurer or depositor without any nominee easier.
