Apply In-Person:
- The applicant has to reach out to the Andaman and Nicobar Administration Secretariat Office for getting permission on closing any abandoned wells or borewells.
- After getting the application form, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary details that are needed for getting the permit.
- The applicant has to make sure to carry all the related documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both Photocopies and originals).
- The photocopies of the necessary documents should be attached along with the application form before submitting.
- After the submission process, the concerned officer will ask for a site visit from the applicant.
- If the site visit is done and approved by the officer, the applicant has to pay the requisite fees for the certificate.
- After that, the applicant can get their certificate within 1-2 days.

- If you are already registered on this website then you can proceed to log in. If you are a new, then please register before proceeding to the next step.
- Click on the “Apply to Sink Well”. The application form for permission on sinking a well will get opened.
- Then register all the necessary details in the application form.
- The applicant has to upload the digital copies of the documents (whichever is required) that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Finally click on the “Submit” button.
- After the application passes through the concerned officials successfully, a site inspection will be conducted.
- Once the officer visits the site and approves, the applicant has to pay the requisite fees online on the “Payments” section of the website.
- If the payment is made successfully, the digital certificate will be issued to the applicant.

Documents that are required for getting a permission certificate for closing a well is listed below:
- ID Proof
- Address Proof
- Form of the Land in which the well exists (Available in the Directorate of Land and Survey Records Office)
- If applicant is not the owner of the land in which the well exists then an NOC or a Power of Attorney from the owner of the land along with the ID Proofs on a stamp paper is necessary.

- The Directorate of Land and Survey Records Office in each state holds the documents of all the lands in India. If the owner of any lands with the well is not known, then the applicant can get documents from the Directorate.
