ProcedureEdit

The revenue department is responsible for maintaining the revenue record (RoR). The revenue record (RoR) is the primary record that shows how rights on land are derived for the landowner and also the record keep’s track of the property’s transactions from time to time.

Apply In-Person:

  1. Those who are interested in getting a copy of revenue record shall approach the respective office of the Deputy Commissioner / Tahsildar / Block officer / Patwari within their jurisdiction where the property is situated.

In the given portal page, please select “ABOUT DISTRICT > Who’s Who” OR “ABOUT DISTRICT > ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP > Wards and Panchayats” OR “DIRECTORY > PUBLICUTILITIES > Municipalities” as appropriate for the contact details
  3. Please go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure for getting a copy of revenue record.
  4. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  5. Complete the application form. Attach the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the designated receiving authority as advised.
  6. After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted. Please pay the fees/charges if applicable and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer. A record number will be given as acknowledgement for receipt of the application form. Please collect it and keep it safe for future reference.
  8. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting the copy of revenue record.
  9. This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details.
  10. After scrutiny of documents and verification of information, these applications along with remarks, printout of the land record page and comments will be sent to the respective sanctioning department
  11. Concerned sanctioning authority will approve the revenue record with seal and signature as per the format applicable.
  12. The status will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
  13. Applicant shall revisit the office where they applied for this procedure to get the revenue record, or it will be delivered as per applicable norms.
Note:If the records are available online, the details of the said property can be obtained instantly but to get a certificate being signed by the nodal authority, it will take time.

  • The Register of land record will include:
    • General description, map, and locational details of the immovable property.
    • Descriptive data such as a unique identification number, plot number, total area, built up and vacant area, address, site area, and undivided share in the land.
    • Detail of survey entry, provisional title record, conclusive title record and status, mortgage, charges, other rights and interests in the property.
    • Details of transfer of the property and past transactions.
    • Disputes pertaining to the property.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The copy of revenue record endorses the real owner of a land.
  • The copy of revenue record is beneficial to detect false claim on the lands.
  • The copy of revenue record can be used in court litigations related to property.
  • The revenue record is needed for several things such as obtaining bank loans, selling properties, creating partition deeds, etc.
  • The entries in the register will serve as conclusive evidence of ownership. These entries will be maintained in electronic form, indemnified, and kept in the public domain.
  • Earlier these records are maintained using a notebook, this book will be prepared, fresh, after every five years.

  • Revenue record provides.
    • Names of all persons who have acquired some rights with regard to the land.
    • The nature and limits of their rights.
    • The rent or revenue to be paid by them.
  • These rights could be ownership, long-term lease-holds, or tenancy related.
  • The revenue record may also capture information regarding loans taken by the occupant, details on the rights of the owner or occupant of the land, and any community or government rights on the land.
  • The entry and deletion of a name in revenue record takes place when transfers of rights through sale, mortgage, mortgage without possession, lease or ancestral mutations occurs. It can also be made through any court order and can be deleted accordingly.
  • Sub registrar will send the document to Tahsildar office of that area to update the records.
  • In certain States, a printed copy of the revenue record can be obtained online at computerized land record kiosks located in taluk offices for a prescribed fee.
