Apply In-Person

  1. Ration Card holder should approach the ration office of your area OR department of civil supplies & consumer affairs office of the District/Sub-Division(C) as applicable.

  3. Please go to the respective office.
  4. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written/electronically typed application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used.
  5. Please submit the completed application along with the required documents to the respective authority.
  6. Authorities after checking the submitted application along with the attached documents will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
  7. Keep it safe for future reference.
  8. This application will be forwarded to the concerned Ward/ GramaPanchayath official for verification. The concerned official visits the house of the applicant for verification and approves the request, if the applicant is found eligible.
  9. The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.
  10. After ground level verification ration card will be issued in 2 – 3 weeks as notified by the department

  • If the application requires any scrutiny, respective authority will do the due diligence.


Apply through Centres

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant shall visit any nearby centres authorised by the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs or get the application form from the authorised CSC/Tehsil centre.   2. The applicant is required to fill in all the details and submit the same to the regional CSC/Tehsil centre.
  3. Upon successful completion, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement slip which must be kept safe for the future.
  4. An inspector from the department will investigate the details and location of the applicant.
  5. On successful inspection, the ration card will be issued in 15-21 days.
  6. The applicant can collect the ration card from the office of the District food & Supply.
Note:
  • The applicant needs to carry all the original documents (including Ration Card) for the verification of the process.

    • ID Proof of Parents such as PAN Card, Aadhaar Card

EligibilityEdit

  • A valid ration card holder.
  • The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
  • The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
  • The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
  • New born above 5 years
  • Addition of member name after marriage

  • Validity remains same
  • Usually Family identity card is valid for lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on announcement.

  • For implementation of the Targeted Public Distribution System(TPDS), Ration Card is being issued to all the heads of families, with details about family members included in the card. Based on their economic condition, people can buy goods like food grains, sugar and kerosene with the help of their ration cards.
