How to apply:
National or ForeignersTransfer of body within Algeria:
- The authorization to transport a body is issued by the president of the People's Municipal Assembly of the place of death, if the body of a deceased person is going to be transported to a wilaya other than the one where the death took place.
- The authorization to transport the body of a person who died as a result of one of the contagious diseases provided for by the regulations in force, is issued by the territorially competent wali, after examining the reports of the health and safety services concerned
- The authorization to bury issued by the president of the communal popular assembly of the place of death is equivalent to authorization to transport the body in the territory of the same wilaya.
- Applicant should visit the above officers and Verbally request for assistances for your application case and submit the document required to the register
- After verifying all the documents are in order, you will be issue the authorization to transport the remains.
Foreigners Transfer of body from Algeria to abroad:
- The person or company authorized to transfer the remains of a person must report to the head office of the wilaya of the place of death with all the requirements
- Verbally request for assistances for your application and submit the document required to the register
- The Minister of the Interior is immediately informed about the passing of the individual
- After verifying all the documents are in order, you will be issue the authorization to transport the remains of the foreign national who died in Algeria, in view of his or her transfer to their country of origin.
National Transfer of body from abroad to Algeria:
- The person or company authorized to transfer the remains of an Algeria citizenfrom abroad must report to the Algeria diplomatic or consular of the host country where the death took place with all the requirements as may be stipulated by the embassy

Required DocumentsEdit
National or foreigners (body transfer within the territory of the wilaya or outside the wilaya):
- Handwritten request signed by the person authorized to prepare the funeral, containing the name and surname of the deceased, his age and address.
- Death certificate issued by a doctor in the event of natural death (home or hospital).
- Burial authorization issued by the public prosecutor in the event of a suspicious death.
- Copy of the applicant's identity document
- Birth certificate (citizens)
National(body transfer from abroad country):
- Birth certificate for citizen not registered by the consulate
- Medial letter issued by the department of health (non-infection or non-communicable disease)
- The origin death certificate issued by the foreign country issuing authority
- Embalming certificate issued by the funeral services
- Transit permit
- Certificate stating that the body has been laid out in accordance with the Muslim ritual
- Airway bill (flight itinerary)
- Identification document of the deceased i.e. consular registration card, copy of Algerian identification card, passport
Foreigners (body transfer abroad):
- A request from the family or their authorized representative for this purpose.
- A certificate issued by the Embassy of the host country, authorizing the transportation of the remains to this country.
- A request from the body responsible for transporting bodies (funeral directors, companies or any other person duly authorized by the family of the deceased).
- An extract from the death certificate.
- A non-contagious medical certificate.
- A burial permit issued by the president of the CPA.
- For people who died as a result of an accident or violent death, a Burial Permit issued by the competent judicial authority.
