Procedure

• Download application form from http://www.interieur.gov.dz/ ministry of interior and local government

• Fill in the forms

• Submit the forms and the required documents at the police inspectorate office for processing

Required Documents

• Birth certificate in special format 12-S;
• Algerian nationality certificate;
• Residence certificate, issued within the last three months;
• Family record delivered by the Civil Registrar, for those who are married;
• Proof of employment or certificate of school attendance for students;
• Four recent photographs;
• Fees
• Copy of a blood type card

Passport for citizens under 19yrs is valid for 5yrs. Passport for citizens over 19 is valid for 10yrs

Instructions

An application form for acquiring a biometric passport in Algeria is available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Governments

When children are added to their mother's passport or are issued passport, a notarized father's authorization is required.

Children above fifteen (15) should benefit from the individual passport.

Children under fifteen (15) can be listed in the father's or mother's passports.

Need for the Document

The Algerian passport is issued to citizens of Algeria.

Algeria issue both bio-metric and ordinary passports.

Ordinary passports issued upto 2015 only.
