Procedure

How to apply:
In person:

1. Application file is filed with any municipality, administrative district or daïra of the same wilaya or with the consular service of the place of residence for Algerians resident abroad
2. Applicant should visit the above offices with all the requirements ,approach the services desk and request for assistances
3. Accurately fill out the application form and attach all the required documents and submit them.

Online application:

1. Applicant should visit the following website link below and click on the Biometric application Passport
2. To be able to access online application, you will need to register for an account first, if you don’t have one
3. Fill in the registration requirement accurately and submit, an acknowledgement confirmation will be sent to the email account you register with
4. You will then be required to activate your account and log in
5. You will then need to accurately fill out the application request form, upload the digital photo and print out
6. Then choose an enrolment site and make an appointment at the chosen site, on which you are required to appear in person on the schedule date and time with all the required documents, so that your Biometric data may be taken.
7. If all the information are in order ,you will be informed when you can came and pick up your passport

Required Documents

Applicants residing in Algeria:

• Accurate filled application form completed and signed by the interested party
• Extract of special birth certificate No. 12-S of the person concerned;
• The certificate of Algerian nationality, when the request is made for the first time;
• The certificate of residence dating less than six (6) months;
• The attestation of work or any documentary evidence of work or the certificate of schooling for students or school children;
• Four (4) color identity photos, digital, recent and identical (the background of the biometric photo must be solid, without outline and white in color);
• A tax receipt or tax stamp, the amount of which corresponds to the nature of the document requested;
• A copy of the blood group card

Applicant residing Abroad:

• Accurately filled application form completed and signed by the person concerned or by the legal guardian for minors,
• Extract of special birth certificate No. 12-S of the person concerned;
• The valid consular registration card;
• Proof of stay abroad;
• The attestation of work or the certificate of schooling for the students or the schooled children;
• Four (4) identity photos (the background of the biometric photo must be plain, without outline and white in color) in color, digital, recent and identical;
• A tax receipt or tax stamp, the amount of which corresponds to the nature of the document requested;

Instructions

The standards of the Photographs requirements during the filling of the application:

• The photograph must be recent and resembling at the time of filling the application
• The background of the photo must be united without outline and color white.
• The photo must be 35 millimetres wide by 45 millimetres high.
• The size of the face must be 32 to 36 millimetres (70 to 80% of the face), from the bottom of the chin to the top of the skull (excluding hair)
• The photo must be clear quality, without creases or streaks
• The photo must not present either overexposure or underexposure. It must be properly contrasted, with no shadow cast on the face or in the background. a color photo is highly recommended
• The head should be bare without headgear or other decorative object. The head should be straight and the face should face the lens.
• The subject must have no facial expression. He/she must adopt a neutral expression and have his or her mouth closed.
• The face should be clear. the eyes must be perfectly visible and open
• If you have glasses, you don't have to wear them on the photos. however, if you wear them, the glasses must meet the following conditions:

• the frame should not be thick
• frame should not obscure eyes
• the glasses must neither be tinted nor be colored
• there should be no reflection on the glasses

Need for the Document

An e-Passport is also known as a biometric passport. It contains an electronic chip that is encoded with the same information. The chip holds the same information that is printed on the passport's data page: the holder's name, date of birth, and other biographic information. An e-Passport also contains a biometric identifier.
